Title
E-Tutoring: A Help Tool for the Construction of Training Process Based on Workflow
Abstract
The Technological developments in information and communication led to a new perception of teaching. Thus, from distant teaching, which knew its first developments with the appearance of the postage stamp, to distant learning including means allowing broader layers of the society to have access to knowledge. E-learning is rather a new concept that arose from internet technologies. The implementation of this concept requires the construction of what is called "e-learning platform" which includes the software that covers the following platform environments: learners, teachers and administrators. Today, e- learning can be seen as a means to build virtual formation organizations, where three groups of actors interact and cooperate through several processes. In this work, we define a basic model of e-learning or e-Education platform based on the analysis of the needs of learners and teachers using UML. Our interest is particularly focused on "learner-teacher" relationship and the administrator is assumed to be the software system in order to make the problem easier. Both teacher and learners can have different roles in the platform and can collaborate to execute activities and share some pedagogical resources. We can therefore describe this as workflow process using an object oriented meta-model. The general architecture of the implementation is first detailed, followed by the presentation of the help tool "e-Tutoring 1.0", that is necessary to the tutor to elaborate the work plans corresponding to training process.
