In this paper we present an overview of basic principles and methods of the MIKE approach (Model-based and Incremental Knowledge Engineering). MIKE defines an engineering framework for eliciting, interpreting, formalizing, and implementing knowledge in order to build knowledge-based systems. It aims at integrating the advantages of life cycle models, prototyping and formal specification techniques into a coherent framework for the knowledge engineering process. |
