This paper presents a LC-tank voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with a transformer-based tuning topology implemented in 0.18-mum CMOS process. The proposed topology uses an integrated transformer to provide voltage-controlled inductance value. The measured phase noise is mu122.85 dBc at 1-MHz offset from a 6.45-GHz carrier and its tuning range is 600MHz from 6.11 to 6.71 GHz |
