Advancing relevance research: Theory integration, methodological progress, and critical questions. Sponsored by SIG CRS, USE |
Abstract | ||
---|---|---|
Relevance is a classic topic of longevity in information science. Researchers of information retrieval are concerned with the performance and design of IR systems for which relevance is a major evaluation criterion; researchers in information seeking and use are interested in understanding how the users find and use relevant information for specific tasks at hand in various situations and contexts. This program aims to bring together seasoned researchers to continue the panel session on Current Relevance Research presented at ASIS&T Annual Conference, 2002. |
