Elastic registration of prostate MR images based on estimation of deformation states.
Abstract
•A non-rigid registration technique for the prostate MR images is proposed.•3D images first are rigidly aligned using four approximate corresponding points.•Non-rigid image registration is approached from a state estimation perspective.•A generic FEM-based dynamic elastic model was employed to estimate deformation.•Registration is achieved in a filtering process using an image similarity metric.
