A digital signal processor module (DSPM) has been developed for use in real-time processing of signals from acoustic arrays. This newly developed DSPM is characterized by flexibility; it is compact and gives high performance, and can be used in a wide range of applications. To make this new module, three new VLSIs for digital signal processing were developed: a digital signal processor, an address generator and an input/output port. This new DSPM has a processing capacity of 5 MIPS. The circuitry is fabricated on two printed circuit boards measuring 297 mm × 210 mm. |
