Title
On-line identification of SISO linear time-delay systems from output measurements: theory and applications to engine transient fuel identification
Abstract
The paper develops a class of on-line parameter identification algorithms for single input single output (SISO) linear time delay systems with known time-delays. The treatment of time-delays is important for many applications, including automotive powertrain control. There system identification algorithms can facilitate the off-line calibration of feedforward and feedback parameters as well as the on-line adaptation of these parameters during the vehicle operation. Along these lines, the paper illustrates an application of the developed algorithms to transient fuel identification in a gasoline port fuel injected (PFI) internal combustion engine
