Title
Privacy in Mobile Web Services eHealth
Abstract
There are many advantages to deploy Mobile de- vices in eHealth systems, however; security is still an issue in particular authentication and User pri- vacy. In this paper we propose a novel architecture which integrate 3GPP UMTS mobile technology with Web ser- vices that addresses authentication and privacy con- cern within eHealth environment. The architecture make use of the Generic Authentication Architec- ture from the 3GPP and the Single Sign-On system to authenticate mobile users to a Health Authentica- tion Server to give access to various eHealth Service Providers, P3P is used to manage privacy in the sys- tem. There are many entities involved when dealing with patient health care. This is true in terms of personal such as doctors, nurses, management stafi, insurance personal, etc; or in terms of data including patient med- ical records, doctor prescription, X-ray images, bills, etc. Most of these data potentially very sensitive from the patient prospective. In this paper we propose a novel communication platform that allows the health- care systems to take advantages of using mobile tech- nologies at the same time ensuring users privacy. The novelty of the system is in the integration of the Web Services technologies such as Single Sign-On (SSO)(7) and The Platform for Privacy Preferences Project (P3P) (1), with the Generic Authentication Ar- chitecture (GAA)from the Third Generation Partner- ship Project (3GPP) (4). The rest of the paper is dedicated to describe the ar- chitecture of the system and to show how this integra- tion can take place. A proposed communication pro- tocol for the system is also describe with speciflc sec- tion that analyse User privacy in the system. The pa- per conclude with a conclusion summarising the pro- posed architecture.
