mHealth technologies are a promising resource to help people maintain better health while controlling rising healthcare expenditures. As many individuals find it difficult to meet their personal wellness goals, mHealth apps aimed at increasing compliance may be a critical component in empowering people to control their health. The research sought to identify the feature set most desired by users and determine the likelihood of user acceptance. These issues are addressed in a twofold manner: a literature review and a user survey of 519 respondents (18-54 years of age). The results of this research will inform the design of a future wellness mHealth app, the description of which is presented in this work. |
