Open innovation networks, which involve a diverse set of partners, are vital for developing new products and services, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. Information systems play a significant role in empowering such networks throughout the entire open innovation process. From the case of an innovation network in the medical device industry, we identify the key IS functionalities needed and provide guidelines for CIOs to facilitate innovating in networks.(1,2) |
