Abstract
A 10K-gate 4Gbps unified encrypt/decrypt SMS4 Chinese SMS4 Sbox provides the opportunity to merge mapping (M) cryptographic accelerator is fabricated in 14nrn tri-gate CMOS, and inverse-mapping (M-l) matrices into existing affine operating at IGHz, 750mV, 25 degrees C with total power matrices (A(1), A(2)). This reduces mapping area overheads by consumption of 12mW. Double-affine mapped Sbox circuits 26% and improves critical-path delay by 29% compared to a enable inverse computation using GF(2(4))(2) data-path, resulting composite-field design with explicit mapping transforms. in 33% reduction in accelerator area by elimination oflook-up Design Space Exploration for Optimal GF Polynomials tables (LUT). Optimal composite-field reduction polynomials, The 120 pairs of irreducible extension-field polynomials counter-assisted round constant generation circuits, and a generate 2880 valid mappings of GF(28) to GF(24) 2, wherein hybrid data-path with in-line key-expansion provide additional each mapping corresponds to a unique SMS4 implementation 14% area saving over traditional designs resulting in a compact (Fig. 4). A set of 21 RTL parameters capture all polynomial layout occupying 2445/mu m(2). Low voltage optimizations enable dependencies of affine, inverse, scaling and multiplier circuits, robust sub-threshold operation down to 250mV, with peak energy-efficiency of 1.1 Tbps/W measured at 330m V.
