Gender differences in Computing Programs: Colombian Case Study.
Abstract
This article analyzes the information has been collected from two focus groups with students in training as Systems Engineers. In it data related to the selection process of his career and collected formation process. Female students were interviewed between the ages of 16 and 24 years and in all semesters of two universities in Cali: San Buenaventura University and ICESI University. Common elements were found, like the influence of their parents to make the decision of study this career, the unusual games for girls in childhood and adolescence, as well as the serious difficulties encountered in programming courses in the process of training as engineers.
