Title
Using the i-walker as a measurement tool for walking behaviour analysis
Abstract
Assistive Technologies will play a key role in tomorrow's elderly society. The evolution of new technologies, the reduction in size and cost and the ubiquity of communications allow to design and develop a wide range of applications and services that aim to help people with physical and/or cognitive decline in their daily activities and improve their Quality of Life. In this paper we present a first approach to gait and user driving skills analysis using the on-board sensors of an intelligent rollator: the i-Walker. This technique allows to control the number of steps performed in a 10 Meters Walk Test, as well as the time and distance travelled for each stride.
