Title
A Cost Effective Multi-Channel Ultrasound Signal Acquisition System For Cavitation Detection In Mr-Phifu
Abstract
MR-PHIFU (Magnetic Resonance imaging guided Phased High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a new noninvasive surgery method. The energy of acoustic cavitation may cause side-effect in thermal therapy. In this paper, a cost effective multi-channel ultrasound signal acquisition system (12-bit) is developed using AD9279 and ZYNQ-7020 as cavitation detection system. The proposed system has the sampling frequency as high as 65 MHz to detect the broadband noises which are associated with the cavitation. The system has the capability to be integrated with MR-PHIFU system. The performance of the system was tested experimentally. The results show that the signal acquisition system is able to collect ultrasonic signals reliably which suggests the occurrence of cavitation while the HIFU output is high enough.
