Abstract
•The key probability density functions are deduced according to the statistical characteristic of speckle noise.•A healthy iterative filtering algorithm is proposed to reduce speckle noise based on Bayesian Nonlocal Means Filter Model.•The blockwise filtering style, pre-patch-selection operation and a small iteration number make the filtering timesaving.
