Title
Quality Improvement Algorithm for HDR Video Compression Based on HEVC
Abstract
This paper proposes an efficient video coding algorithm for high dynamic range (HDR) video to improve quality of compressed frame using the HEVC Main 10 profile. The proposed scheme applies an adaptive chroma QP offset based on primary of reference picture using multiple picture parameters set (PPS). The result shows improved perceptual quality with negligible bit-rate increase as compared to the anchor used in MPEG HDR/WCG Call for Evidence reference software and its chroma QP offset method.
