Abstract
•A general purpose model-based approach to describe, represent and generate LBGs.•LeGaL a descriptive language to model and represent the game structure and multimedia contents of LBGs.•The language supports spatial and temporal relationships between game elements and multimedia documents•An adaptation of a map balancing algorithm to transpose LBGs while maintaining game balancing.•A usability evaluation of LeGaL conducted with NCL developers and a map transposition test.
