•This is the first study to estimate RM and RI directly from a single radial blood pressure waveform without the measurement or estimation of aortic blood pressure and flow waveform required by the traditional method wave separation analysis (WSA).•This ANN method yields better accuracy than the WSA method.•The proposed method has potential application for RM and RI measurement in ambulatory situation or during exercise. |
