Abstract
•A generalized model is built to solve pricing problem in sequential crowdfunding.•The optimal pricing strategy of the simultaneous crowdfunding is also analyzed.•No mechanism is strictly dominant in terms of the entrepreneur’s expected payoff.•Compensation mechanism is proposed to improve the efficiency under both mechanisms.•Informational cascade may have positive or negative influences on crowdfunding.
