Physiological indicators of task demand, fatigue, and cognition in future digital manufacturing environments |
Abstract | ||

•We explored the relationship among demand, fatigue, and physiological response.•Subjects performed a sustained attention task modelled on visual inspection work.•Data collection used fNIRS, facial thermography, cardiac and respiratory sensing.•Task demand was associated with changes in breathing rate and nose temperature.•Fatigue and breathing rate increased over time, while heart rate decreased. |
