Title
Case Study on the Fuzzy Architecture Description of Cyber-Physical SoS under Uncertainty
Abstract
Uncertainty is an intrinsic characteristic of any System-of-Systems (SoS), in particular of Cyber-Physical SoS, e.g. in intelligent transportation operations such as vehicle platooning. Recently, a novel ADL, called Fuzzy SosADL, has been specially conceived for formally describing SoS architectures dealing with epistemic uncertainty (i.e. uncertainty due to partial knowledge) based on Fuzzy Theory. This paper presents a case study of the Fuzzy SosADL, supported by a controlled experiment, on the description of SoS architectures (in terms of fuzzy models) for platooning of self-driving vehicles, a typical application of intelligent transportation where a group of autonomous vehicles, subject to uncertainties, travels together in road convoys.
