High level system modeling has significant impact on the early analysis and evaluation of the embedded electronic systems. Being a class of distributed embedded systems, wireless ad hoc sensor networks can benefit from such system-level modeling, but require a suitable mobility model in order to analyze and design reliable and energy-efficient communication protocols. In this paper we propose an actor-oriented group mobility model for wireless ad hoc sensor networks dedicated to wildlife tracking and monitoring. The model can present individual and group motion according to the specified movement patterns, which in turn are characterized by the average moved distance and the average turning angle. |
