Title
Saddle Type Interface Including Human Twisting Motion For The Personal Mobility - Investigation On The Repeatability Of Human Motion -
Abstract
This paper investigated the repeatability of the human motion as a first step to improve the usability of the saddle type interface using human twisting motion for the Personal Mobility. Our proposed interface uses not only conventional translational human motion but also twisting motion, namely it makes full use of the human motion characteristics. The basic experimental results also showed that this interface has a potential to realize intuitive operation. However, the problems also remained: there was a case that user feels a difficulty on operation due to low repeatability of the human motion. The experiment was conducted to investigate the repeatability of the human motion, when user return to the initial position (neutral position) on the saddle type interface. The results showed follwoings conclusions of this paper: Human cannot discriminate less than 17% of the maximum leaning angle around neutral position. Human motion is low repeatability and is not good at precise position control motion. The repeatahlity in case of Motion (leaning backward and return) is lower than any other motions.
