FFIVE: An FPGA Framework for Interactive VNF Environments
Abstract
In the world of telecommunications, there is greater focus on using Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) managed by Software Defined Networking (SDN). VNFs are tradition-ally implemented as software functions, but as technology evolves and application demands dramatically increase, the high performance and low latency of FPGAs make them more suited for use in VNF implementations.
